Hallmark’s miniature Halo Special Edition Xbox ornament is now available through Amazon, with lights, sound, batteries, and a $27.99 price.
Hallmark’s miniature version of the translucent green Halo Special Edition Xbox is now available through Amazon. IGN reports that the Xbox Halo Special Edition Console Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is priced at $27.99 and is being offered as an Amazon-exclusive release.
For Xbox fans, the ornament recreates Microsoft’s 2004 Halo-themed original Xbox rather than a current console. IGN describes a small translucent green system with the Halo Special Edition branding, a matching original Xbox controller, and a short cord connecting the controller to the console.
IGN also reports that the ornament includes lighting and sound features. Pressing its Power button activates the light, the original Xbox startup sound, and music from Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix from Halo 2. The product includes the three LR44 alkaline button batteries needed for those features.
The central appeal is the specific hardware design Hallmark has chosen to reproduce. IGN identifies the ornament as a miniature version of the translucent green special-edition original Xbox that Microsoft released in 2004. That makes it a representation of a particular Halo-era Xbox model, not simply a generic green console decoration.
According to IGN, the ornament has the same chunky rectangular shape associated with the original Xbox, along with translucent green plastic and Halo Special Edition wording on the front-right area. A small green original Xbox controller sits on top of the console, connected by a cord. Those details give the ornament a recognizable setup instead of presenting the console as an isolated miniature.
IGN lists the ornament’s dimensions as 3.5 by 1.25 by 3.5 inches. That places it firmly in the compact format expected of a standard Christmas ornament. The supplied batteries mean buyers do not need to purchase a separate power source before trying the lighting and audio functions, although IGN’s report does not provide further information about battery life or how the product performs after extended use.
The sound feature is especially tied to Xbox and Halo history. IGN reports that activating the button plays the original Xbox startup sound and music from the Halo 2 track Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix. The source does not specify the audio duration, volume controls, or whether the sound can be disabled while leaving the light active.
How this fits Xbox’s hardware history
This ornament is based on a console from Microsoft’s first Xbox generation. IGN’s report connects the design to the 2004 release of the translucent green Halo Special Edition original Xbox, giving the decoration a clear place in the platform’s hardware history.
That context matters because the product is focused on a recognizable past Xbox design rather than a new gaming device. Analysis of the reported features suggests that Hallmark is selling the object primarily as a collectible display piece with a nostalgic audio and lighting component. The source does not describe it as functional gaming hardware, and there is no indication that it can play games, connect to a television, or interact with an Xbox console.
The controller included in the design reinforces that historical focus. IGN specifically identifies it as an original Xbox controller, and the ornament presents it alongside the matching console. The report does not say whether the controller is removable or whether any part of the miniature setup is intended to move.
The item also arrives alongside other Xbox-related collectibles. IGN notes that a standard Xbox Hallmark Keepsake Ornament, which debuted in 2024, remains available. That alternative resembles a miniature version of Microsoft’s original game console but does not carry the Halo Special Edition design described for the new Amazon-exclusive item.
The confirmed purchase details are straightforward. IGN reports that the Halo Special Edition Xbox ornament is available now through Amazon for $27.99. The report does not provide a separate shipping estimate, regional availability information, stock count, or an end date for the listing, so those details remain unconfirmed.
Buyers should also distinguish this product from an Xbox accessory. The reported dimensions and ornament format indicate a decorative item for display, while the light and sound effects are built into the keepsake experience. Analysis based on the source suggests that its strongest appeal will be for collectors who associate the original Xbox with the Halo era, rather than for anyone looking for new functionality from their current Xbox setup.
There is no evidence in IGN’s report that the ornament connects to Xbox consoles, Xbox services, or any digital account. It is also not described as an Xbox-licensed controller, a playable device, or a product that adds content to a game. Xbox players should therefore treat it as a physical collectible that references the platform’s history.
IGN reports that the three required LR44 batteries are included. The source does not confirm whether replacement batteries are sold with the ornament after the included set runs out, nor does it state whether the batteries are installed when the item ships. Those practical details may matter to buyers planning to keep the sound and lighting active as part of a holiday display.
The Halo console is part of a wider group of gaming-themed Hallmark products discussed by IGN. The publisher also points to a Halo Warthog ornament, along with ornaments based on Pokémon, Zelda, and other gaming properties. IGN additionally mentions a PlayStation 1 ornament for fans of older console hardware.
These alternatives are relevant mainly as collection context. The Halo Special Edition Xbox ornament is the item in this report with the confirmed $27.99 price and Amazon-exclusive availability. IGN’s article does not provide equivalent pricing, availability, dimensions, or feature details for every other ornament it mentions.
For Xbox-focused collectors, the choice described by IGN is between the newly available Halo-themed model and the standard Xbox ornament that remains on sale. The Halo version adds translucent green styling, a matching controller, and the reported light-and-sound functions tied to the original Xbox and Halo 2. The standard version is presented as a more general miniature of the original console.
IGN also places the ornament in the context of another translucent green Xbox product. The publisher reports that Microsoft is releasing a new translucent green Xbox Series X on November 13, with production limited to 25,000 units. IGN further reports that the special-edition console had already sold out wherever it was offered for preorder at the time of publication.
This is a separate product from Hallmark’s ornament. The source does not say that the two items are sold as a bundle, share availability, or have matching specifications beyond their translucent green visual theme. Analysis of the connection is therefore limited to their shared reference to green Xbox hardware, with no confirmed commercial relationship between them.
IGN says additional stock of the Series X may become available at release, but the report does not confirm how much stock might appear or where it would be offered. The same uncertainty applies to any future availability changes for the Hallmark ornament. Neither product should be treated as guaranteed to remain in stock based only on the information currently reported.
What remains unconfirmed
IGN confirms the ornament’s reported design, price, dimensions, included batteries, Amazon-exclusive positioning, and light-and-sound functions. Several buyer-focused details are not included in the publisher’s source text. These include shipping dates, purchase limits, warranty information, regional sales restrictions, battery life, sound volume, and whether the item will receive additional production runs.
The report also does not confirm whether the ornament is part of a numbered run, whether it has a Hallmark Keepsake box with a specific collector designation, or whether the miniature controller and cord can be repositioned. Those details should not be assumed from the product’s appearance.
For now, the confirmed news is that Hallmark’s Halo Special Edition Xbox Keepsake Ornament is available through Amazon at the reported price of $27.99. It recreates the 2004 translucent green original Xbox design and adds a light-and-sound feature built around the console startup sound and Halo 2 music. Any changes to stock, pricing, delivery, or production remain worth watching.
